Making Greenwich’s best kept secret more visible, even during lockdown
Whilst being “Greenwich’s Best Kept Secret” was accurate, it wasn’t a big idea that could span the variety of events and audiences. “For everyone” was adopted to bring all communications together on social media and in print for the 15th year of Jo managing the venue.
Situated near Maze Hill overground and without high street visibility, The Vanbrugh was a pub loved by locals, for the friendly team, wide range of beers, fine food and a large family friendly garden.
As a regular, I offered to support them with marketing of the weekly events (sport, food offers, quiz nights) and the special events at Easter, Christmas and New Year.
What started out as just a few ideas for posters grew into a range of activities to support the social media and print media. This became vital during lock-down when the pub was suddenly shut, provided a new takeaway service and eventually reopened under new rules but with the same welcoming team.

Countdown to the end of lockdown
Nigel was a regular and we struck up a conversation about our posters, social media, and branding. As time went on, his contributions snowballed, and he offered not just branding but also invaluable advice during lockdown helping us navigate that tricky period. Hi Vinylly Friday night also transformed our Friday!!! I'd definitely recommend working with Nigel for all your marketing needs.
