It’s festival season.
I used to go to Reading Festival every year (1989 to 2000). V Fest when it was good. After that, Field Day in Victoria Park became my go-to (when it was new). I never quite fancied Glastonbury, though. Too big, too muddy, too everything.
But now that summer’s arrived, it’s got me thinking: if your business was a festival, which one would it be?
Reading – alternative, rowdy, still drawing the youth Glastonbury – sprawling, iconic, something for everyone Latitude – safe, cultured, family-friendly SXSW – creative, digital, intellectually cool Download – loud, loyal, no room for compromise Hyde Park BST – polished, mainstream, corporate-friendly Creamfields – high-energy, throwback hedonism Coachella – stylish, international, influencer central Fuji Rock – scenic, eclectic, serious about sound Primavera – indie-leaning, smart, effortlessly cool Burning Man – visionary, radical, experience-first
This year, I’m actually hosting my own festival
ZEST FEST is a Creative and Digital Day in the Design District – a full day of inspiring talks, hands-on workshops, and conversations to spark ideas, build skills, and grow your business. (Delivered in partnership with GLL/Start-Up and Design District).
