Shanks wins two awards at the Transform Awards Europe
The Transform Awards Europe award excellence in rebranding and brand strategy. The awards recognise best practice in corporate, product and global brand development work in the region, with categories that focus on content, execution, evaluation and strategy.
Gold Award; Best rebrand from the industrial and basic materials sector
Gold Award; Best brand consolidation
PIN Creative’s excellence in rebranding was honoured at Communicate magazine’s Transform Awards. PIN won 2 GOLD awards in the category of 'Best Brand Consolidation' and 'Best rebrand from the industrial and basic materials sector' for its work with Shanks Group plc.
Having grown through acquisition, waste management business Shanks found itself with a stable of local and regional brands, particularly in The Netherlands. They weren’t taking advantage of the power of a cohesive group brand offer.
An extensive brand review built on Shanks’ vision to be the leading provider of sustainable waste management solutions in their target markets. A new master-brand positioning, visual identity and endorsement strategy was needed to enhance the benefits of being in a group, without undermining local success. And critically, all operating companies needed to buy into the solutions.
One year post rebrand, the results are extremely encouraging: • All 22 Shanks Group operating companies buy in to solution • Brand strategy enables easy business restructure • 26% cost savings • Considerable time savings • New lucrative contracts • Absenteeism rates drop
Nigel Davies, Director at PIN Creative said: “After working on a project for over 3 years, it's great to finally get some recognition for a project that has made a significant difference to Shanks Group's business and culture. They didn't think it could be done. But we did it.”
Helen Kemp, Shanks Group Communications advisor said: “We’re delighted that the quality and clarity of our rebrand has been recognised through these award wins. The award-winning rebrand is a testament to the hard work of PIN and of our teams across the business.”
Andrew Thomas, publishing editor of Communicate magazine, said: "The rebranding stories that captured our imaginations and our hearts have been tales of hard work, of fabulous creative thought and of stunning intellectual and strategic insight. Those stories are also the ones being honoured at the Transform Awards. We are very proud to be a footnote in their organisations’ stories by providing a platform from which to recognise the excellence of their changing brand narratives."
