Are you making the same mistake as the political parties?
Are you using colour coding in your brand?
Here’s why you shouldn’t
As I watched the US election results this week, I saw the wall of red coming in from the East Coast and immediately thought, ‘Well that’s not too bad. There’s still hope for the world’.
Then my brain kicked in remembering that the party colours in the US and the UK are the other way round. “Oh sh*t.”
And that’s the point, whilst me may know the colour code, we won’t always remember it.
There are more important things to address over the next few years—be it the economy, environment, health inequality, gender inequality, hunger, migration, global conflict, cyberwars, or the rise of artificial intelligence, but I have one ask.
Can the major political parties please align their colour palettes.
How are you using colour in your brand?
Is your colour coding only meaningful to you
Have you thought about global colour symbolism?
Is your brand inclusive for those with colour vision deficiencies?
If you’re unsure, then the chances are you’re confusing your audience too.
